Fluid - M/T: Service and Repair




1. Disconnect the speedometer cable and remove the speedometer driven gear.
2. On level ground, jack up the vehicle and support it evenly on safety stands.
3. Remove the drain plug and washer. Drain the oil into a suitable container.
4. Install a new washer and the drain plug.

Tightening torque: 40 - 58 N-m (4.0 - 6.0 kgf-m, 29 - 43 ft-lbf)




5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Add the necessary amount of the specified oil through the speedometer gear case hole.

Specified oil
Viscosity: All-season ATF Dexron(R)II, SAE 75 W - 80
Above - 18 °C (0 °F) API service GL-4 or GL-5 SAE 80W - 90
Capacity: 3.15 L (3.33 US qt, 2.77 Imp qt)




7. Install a new O-ring and the speedometer driven gear.

Tightening torque: 7.9 - 11.7 N-m (80 - 120 kgf-cm, 70 - 104 in-lbf)

8. Connect the speedometer cable.
