Intake Air Control Valve: Testing and Inspection




System Operation
1. Start the engine and verify that the actuator rod is pulled into the actuator.
2. If the actuator rod is not pulled, check the following items below.




- Vacuum tube (Inspect vacuum line fitting, connections and components for leaks)
- Vacuum chamber (Inspect for damage or cracks)
- Solenoid Valve-Charge Control:
- Shutter Valve
- Actuator-Charge Control: (Refer to below).




Inspection
1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the actuator.
2. Connect a vacuum pump.
3. Verify that the actuator rod is pulled when applying vacuum more than 6.7 kPa (50 mmHg, 1.9 inHg).
4. If not as specified, replace the actuator.
