BAC Valve

System Inspection
1. Connect the data link connector terminals TEN and GND by using a jumper wire.
2. Connect a tachometer to the data link connector terminal IG-.
3. Start the engine at engine cold condition.
4. Verify that the idle speed decreases gradually as the engine warms up.
5. If not, check the water hose of the bypass air control (BAC) valve.
6. If water hose is OK, replace the BAC valve.




Replacement
1. Remove the throttle body assembly.
2. Remove the BAC valve.
3. With a new gasket, install in the reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque:
2.8-4.0 N-m (29-41 kg-cm, 25-35 in-lb)
