Inspection
1. Warm up the engine to normal operation temperature and let it idle.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the charcoal canister side of the purge solenoid valves (High and Low), and connect the vacuum gauges.
3. By using the vacuum gauge, verify that there is vacuum at the purge solenoid valve (low) side after 10 sec. running.
4. If there is no vacuum, check the following.
^ PCM terminal voltage
Mass air flow sensor VGP signal
Load/No load distinction signal
Throttle position TVO signal
^ Purge solenoid valve (Low)
5. Verify that there is no vacuum at the purge solenoid valve (High) side.
6. If there is vacuum, check the following.
^ PCM terminal voltage
Purge control signal (High)
^ Purge solenoid valve (High)
7. Position the vehicle on a chassis roller and shift the selector lever to D (ATX).
8. Run the engine at approx. 2,000 rpm.
