Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Preliminary Inspection

INTRODUCTION
Most of the fuel and emission control system are electrically controlled, often making it difficult to diagnose problems in the system, especially intermittent problems. Before undertaking actual checks, take a few minutes to talk with a customer who approaches with a driveablity complaint. The customer is often a good source of information on such problems, especially intermittent ones. Through talks with the customer, one can find out what the symptoms are and under what conditions they occur.
