POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)
Detects the following:
1. A/C operation - Air conditioning switch.
2. Air/fuel ratio (oxygen concentration) - Heated oxygen sensor.
3. Braking signal - Brake light switch.
4. Crankshaft position - Crankshaft position sensor.
5. E/L operation - Fan switch, cooling fan relay, headlight switch, and rear window defroster switch.
6. Engine coolant temperature - Engine coolant temperature sensor.
7. Engine speed - Camshaft position sensor.
8. Ignition ON signal - Ignition switch.
9. In-gear condition - Transaxle Range Switch.
10. Intake air amount - Mass air flow sensor.
11. Intake air temperature - Intake air temperature sensor.
12. No.1 piston TDC (compression stroke) - Camshaft position sensor.
13. P/S operation - P/S pressure switch.
14. Diagnostic test mode signal (ignition timing, idle speed, diagnostic trouble code no.) - Data link connector (TEN terminal).
15. Throttle valve opening angle - Throttle position sensor.
16. Throttle valve closed throttle position - Closed throttle position switch.
17. vehicle speed - Vehicle speed sensor.

Controls operation of following:
1. A/C (cut-off) - A/C relay.
2. On-board diagnostic system - New Generation Star (NGS) tester.
3. Fuel injection system - Fuel injectors.
4. Idle speed control - Idle air control valve.
5. Ignition system - Ignition control module.
6. Purge control system - Purge solenoid valve.
7. Exhaust gas recirculation - EGR solenoid valves.
8. Pressure regulator control system - PRC solenoid valve.
9. Cooling fan control - Cooling fan relay.
10. Fuel pump control - Fuel pump relay.
