Clearing Trouble Codes

CAUTION:
- Do not disconnect the battery to clear diagnostic trouble codes. This will erase the keep alive memory information which may cause a driveability concern.
- After repairing a failure, perform the After Repair Procedure to verify the fault has been corrected.

AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE




1. Connect the Special Service Tools (SST)s New Generation Star (NGS) tester to the Data Link Connector.




2. Select Clear codes function and clear the DTC's.
3. Perform Quick-Test to ensure that the customer's concern has been resolved. If DTC P1000 is present, go to the DTC P1000 chart in Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Procedures/Diagnostic Charts.
