Knock Sensor: Service and Repair
WARNING:- Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can very easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel.
- Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safely Procedure".
Replacement
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the coolant from the radiator.
3. Remove the intake air system.
4. Remove in the order shown in the figure below.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation note.
6. Refill the radiator with the specified engine coolant.

Installation notes
Lysholm compressor bracket
1. Hand tighten bolts A first.
2. Tighten all the bolts in the order shown in the figure above.
Tightening torque: 16-22 N-m (12-16 ft-lb)
Knock sensor
1. Fit the knock sensor harness into the drill hole [A] on the cylinder block.
2. Pass the harness under the rubber insulator on the LH cylinder head.
