Removal/Installation

1. Drain transaxle fluid into a suitable container, then remove intermediate (joint) shaft in numbered sequence shown, Fig. 31. It may be necessary to use a copper or brass bar and a hammer to separate righthand driveshaft from intermediate (joint) shaft.

2. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install a new clip with opening facing upward.
b. On models equipped with 2.3L engine, torque bolt "A", Fig. 32, to 32 - 45 ft.lb.
