Inspection Procedure
View: Special Service Tool Connections:
1. Connect the SST-New Generation Star Tester to the data link connector 2 and battery.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Check the diagnostic trouble code(s), referring to the SST-New Generation Star Tester instruction manual.
4. If a diagnostic trouble code(s) are displayed, check for the cause by refering to the related trouble code chart. (Repair as necessary.)
5. Following repairs, perform the After-Repair procedure to verify that there are no remaining codes.
Troubleshooting
If a diagnostic trouble code is shown on the SST, check for the cause by using the chart related to the code shown.
Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions
Code P0705 Through P1790:
After-Repair Procedure
1. Cancel the diagnostic trouble code memory by using the SST-New Generation Star Tester.
(Refer to Instruction Manual)
2. Remove the SST from the data link connector 2.
3. Drive the vehicle at 50 km/h (31 mph), and depress the accelerator pedal fully to activate kickdown. Stop the vehicle gradually.
4. Re-connect the SST to the data link connector 2 and battery.
5. Turn the ignition switch ON.
6. Verify that NO diagnostic trouble codes are displayed.
