Overdrive Indicator Lamp: Testing and Inspection




O/D OFF INDICATOR LIGHT
Inspection of operation:

1. Turn the ignition switch ON.

NOTE: The O/D OFF indicator light will flash if a malfunction exists in any of the EC-AT system components.

2. Verify that O/D OFF indicator light is not illuminated.




3. Depress the switch and verify that the O/D OFF indicator light illuminates.




4. If the O/D OFF indicator light function is not as specified, check the O/D OFF switch, and then check the terminal voltage of the O/D OFF indicator light.

Inspection of voltage:
1. Remove the instrument cluster.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.







3. Measure voltage between terminal 2F and the ground.

Inspection of continuity:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.




3. Check for continuity between terminal 21 and powertrain control module terminal 2E.
4. If not correct, check the wiring harness (Instrument cluster - powertrain control module).
5. If correct, go to the next step.







6. Check for continuity between terminals 21 and 2F.
7. If not correct, replace the instrument cluster or bulb.
8. Install the instrument cluster.
9. Connect the negative battery cable.
