Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes

ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the Special Service Tool (SST) New Generation Star (NGS) tester to the data link connector 2 and battery.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Check the diagnostic trouble code(s).

4. If a diagnostic trouble code(s) is displayed, check for the cause by using the number on the diagnostic trouble code table. (Repair as necessary.)
5. Following repairs, refer to How to Clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes, and verify that there are no remaining codes.
