Window Regulator: Adjustments


Vertical Adjustment





1. Check that the upper edge of the glass is in the correct position as shown.

NOTE: When the front door glass is raised, both lower glass stoppers must simultaneously contact the upper glass stoppers.

2. If necessary, adjust the position by loosening the installation bolts for the two upper glass stoppers, lowering the door glass slightly, then moving the upper stoppers up or down.
3. Tighten the upper stopper installation bolt.
Tightening torque
7.9-10.7 N.m { 80-110 kgf.cm 69.-95.4 in.lbf)

Forward/Backward Adjustment





1. Check that the rear edge of the glass is in the correct position as shown.
2. If necessary, adjust the position by loosening the installation nuts for the window regulator upper and for the glass guide upper, then moving the window regulator and glass guide fore or aft equally.
3. Tighten the window regulator and glass guide installation nuts.
Tightening torque
22-27 N.m { 2.2-2.8 kgf.m 16-20 ft.lbf)

Inward/Outward Adjustment





1. Check that the upper and rear edge of the glass is in the correct position as shown.
2. If necessary, adjust the position by loosening the installation nuts for the window regulator lower and for the glass guide lower, then moving the window regulator and glass guide inward or outward equally.
3. Tighten the window regulator and glass guide installation nuts.
Tightening torque
22-27 N.m { 2.2-2.8 kgf.m 16-20 ft.lbf }

After Completion of Adjustment

1. Verify the following with the door weatherstrip removed.
1. The door glass is in the correct position when fully closed.
2. When the door glass is raised, the lower glass stoppers contact the upper glass stoppers simultaneously.

2. Verify the following with the door weatherstrip installed.
1. The door weatherstrip installation is correct.
2. The door glass raises and lowers smoothly with the door closed.
