Variable Induction Control Actuator: Service and Repair
REMOVAL/INSPECTION/INSTALLATION1. Remove in the order shown in the figure.
2. Visually check each part for damage. Replace if necessary.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal.
VRIS SHUTTER VALVE ACTUATOR
Installation Note
1. Check operation of the VRIS shutter valve.
2. If ii does not operate smoothly, replace the intake manifold assembly.
3. Install the VRIS shutter valve actuator.
4. Connect a vacuum pump to the VRIS shutter valve actuator.
5. Apply vacuum of 3.6-24.9 kPa (27-187 mmHg, 1.06-7.36 in.Hg) and verify that the rod of the VRIS shutter valve actuator is pulled in completely.
6. Relief vacuum to the VRIS shutter valve actuator and verify that the intake manifold side lever returns to the initial position smoothly.
7. If riot as specified, replace the VRIS shutter valve actuator.
