Accumulators

DISASSEMBLY / INSPECTION / ASSEMBLY
1. Disassemble in the order shown in the illustration, referring to Disassembly Note.
2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly. referring to Assembly Procedure

2-3 Accumulator Piston, N-D Accumulator Piston (2, 3)
Remove the accumulator pistons from transaxle case by applying compressed air through the oil passage as shown in the illustration.





Inspection Of Accumulator Spring (1, 4)
1. Measure the spring free length





2. If not within specification, replace the spring.





Assembly Procedure





1. Apply ATF to the new O-rings and install them onto the accumulator pistons.

CAUTION: Apply even pressure to the perimeter of the accumulator pistons during installation to avoid damaging the O-rings.





2. Install the accumulator pistons and springs.
