Using the New Generation Star Tester
Special Service Tool New Generation Star Tester Connected to Data Link Connector 2:
1. Connect the Special Service Tools New Generation Star (NGS) tester to the data link connector 2.
2. Select the PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD function and press TRIGGER.
3. Verify that the throttle valve is at the closed throttle position.
4. Loosen the attaching screws.
5. Select the "TPS V" on the NGS display.
6. Adjust the throttle position sensor so that the throttle position signal voltage is as specified.
7. Tighten the throttle position sensor screw.
Tightening torque: 1.6-2.3 Nm (14-20 in.lbs.)
8. Fully open the throttle valve and verify that the voltage is within the specification.
9. If not as specified, check the wiring harness.
10. If the harness is OK, replace the throttle position sensor, and readjust.
