Fuel Pump Operation Inspection

Special Service Tool New Generation Star Tester Connected to Data Link Connector 2:

1. Connect the Special Service Tools New Generation Star (NGS) tester to the data link connector-2.
2. Remove the fuel filler cap.
3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.




4. Select the SIMULATION TEST function on the NGS display.
5. Turn the fuel pump relay from OFF to ON by using the FP RLY". Operate the fuel pump relay and check if operation sound of the fuel pump is heard.
a. If the operation sound is heard, do as follows.




- Measure the voltage at terminal B of fuel pump connector (harness side).

Specification: Battery positive voltage (Ignition switch ON)

- If the voltage is correct, check the following.
- Continuity of the fuel pump

- If the voltage is not correct, check the following.
- Wiring harnesses and connectors (Fuel pump relay - Fuel pump)

b. If the operation sound is not heard, check the following.
- Fuel pump relay
- Wiring harnesses and connectors (Main relay- Fuel pump relay - PCM)
