MANUAL CONTROL DOOR MIRROR NOT ADJUSTABLE

APPLICABLE MODELS

All 1995-97 Protege (BA, BB & BC) with VINs JM1 BC141*V0 162313 and JM1BC142*V0 162320 or lower.

DESCRIPTION

The door mirror is not adjustable (uncontrollable) using the inside door control lever. This is due to the internal 0-ring of the mirror pivot breaking, causing the pivot to seize and allowing the mirror adjustment wires to become loose. A modified part is available which has protective grease added to the 0-ring to prevent breakage. Customers complaining of this subject should have their vehicle inspected, and if necessary, repaired according to this bulletin.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify the customer's complaint.





2. Confirm the lot number modification date is lower than 09E97. See example. Replace mirror per the Workshop Manual.

3. Confirm Repair.





PARTS INFORMATION

"A" means an old part can be replaced with a new part, however, a new part cannot be replaced with an old part.
