DESCRIPTION
A rattling noise or buzzing may be heard from the front of the vehicle. This noise occurs
^ At idle with the vehicle in "D" or "R" and the brake applied (A/T).
^ When engaging the clutch from a stop (M/T).

Customers complaining of this noise should have the rubber hood stops adjusted according to the procedures in this bulletin.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify the complaint
^ If the noise is heard from the front of the vehicle under the conditions described above. proceed to step 2.
^ If the noise is not heard under the above condition or is coming from another area of the vehicle, refer to the NVH or workshop manual for troubleshooting instructions.





2. Turn the rubber stop counter-clockwise, close the hood and confirm the repair. Refer to Fig. 1 - Repeat if necessary.





3. Measure the height difference between the hood and the fender (both right and left).
^ The difference in height between fender and hood (right and left) should not exceed 0.5 +/- 1.0 mm (0.02 +/- 0.04 in).
^ If the height is greater than specified, adjust the rubber stops (clockwise) and hook lock striker according to section S of the workshop manual.
