DESCRIPTION

When driving on a rough road, a thumping noise is heard from the rear left and/or right suspension tower. This is caused by the adjusting sheet allowing the rear shock absorber and coil spring assembly to make contact with the body panel. A modified adjusting sheet is available to prevent this noise. Customers complaining of this should have their vehicle repaired according to the following procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer complaint.

2. Remove the rear shock absorber and coil spring assembly. Refer to the Workshop Manual section R(02) for removal and installation procedures.

3. Replace the adjusting sheet on the assembly with the modified pant.

Caution
^ Install the modified adjusting sheet with the notch facing outward, away from the vehicle.

4. Perform STEPS 2 and 3 on opposite side of vehicle.

5. Verify repair.
