With Next Generation Star (NGS) Tester

Special Service Tool New Generation Star Tester Connected to Data Link Connector 2:

Diagnostic Trouble Code Inspection
1. Connect the Special Service Tool New Generation Star (NGS) tester to the data link connector 2.
2. Refer to the manufacturer-provided instruction manual for the NGS operation.

NOTE: Some DTCs are detected only when the engine is running. Before checking the DTCs, start the engine.

3. Start the engine.




4. Select "DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES" function and press TRIGGER.
5. When "NO CODES RECEIVED/SYSTEM PASSED" is displayed, all systems monitored are judged OK.
6. When any of the diagnostic trouble codes is displayed, carry out troubleshooting according to the code.
7. When "LINK MONITOR ERROR" is displayed, check connection of the NGS.
8. After all problems have been repaired, erase diagnostic trouble codes from the NGS memory.
9. Retest for confirmation of repair.
