Fuel Pump: Description and Operation

Fuel Pump R&R:

PURPOSE
Circulate fuel through system at adequate volume and pressure.

LOCATION
In fuel tank with sending unit assembly.

OPERATION
Pump supplies more than the maximum required amount of fuel at slightly higher than required pressure. This is to insure adequate fuel supply and pressure, while fuel circulates constantly through the system and back to the tank. Pump is a high pressure positive displacement electric pump.
