Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.
3. Remove the timing belt cover and timing belt.
4. Remove the cylinder head cover.




5. Hold the camshaft by using a wrench on the cast hexagon as shown, loosen the camshaft pulley lock bolt.
6. Remove the camshaft pulley lock bolt.
7. Remove the camshaft pulley.




8. Remove the camshaft position sensor.
9. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque:
Timing pulley bolt: 123-140 Nm (91-103 ft.lbs.)
Sensor bolt: 7.9-10.7 Nm (69.5-95.4 in.lbs.)
