Front Cross-Member: Service and Repair

REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Remove the splash shield(s).
2. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal.
4. Adjust the front wheel alignment.

Bolt (Lower Arm) Removal Note





- Suspend the axle component by using a rope.

Protect Bracket Removal Note





1. Support the crossmember by using a jack.
2. Remove the bolts.
3. Remove the protect bracket.

Nut, Cam Plate, and Adjusting Cam Bolt Removal Note





- Before loosening the nut, make a mark on the cam plate and the crossmember for reference during installation.

Front Crossmember Bushing Removal Note





- Remove the bushing by using the Special Service Tools (SSTs).

Front Crossmember Bushing Installation Note
1. Apply soapy water to the new bushing.
2. Install the front crossmember bushing.





3. Pull the bushing into the front crossmember by using the SSTs.
