Oil Filter: Service and Repair

ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT

WARNING:
^ When The Engine And The Engine Oil Are Hot, They Can Badly Burn. Don't Burn Yourself With Either.
^ A Vehicle That Is Lifted But Not Securely Supported On Safety Stands Is Dangerous. It Can Sup Or Fall, Causing Death Or Serious Injury. Never Work Around Or Under A Lifted Vehicle If It Is Not Securely Supported On Safety Stands.
^ Continuous Exposure With USED Engine Oil Has Caused Skin Cancer In Laboratory Mice. Protect Your Skin By Washing With Soap And Water Immediately After This Work.






1. Remove the oil filler cap and the oil pan drain plug.
2. Drain the oil into a container.
3. Install the drain plug.

Tightening torque:
30 - 1 Nm (22 - 30 ft. lbs.)






4. Refill the engine with the specified type and amount of engine oil.
5. Refit the oil filler cap.
6. Run the engine and check for oil leaks.
7. Check the oil level and add oil if necessary.

OIL FILTER REPLACEMENT





1. Remove the oil filter by using the Special Service Tool (SST).
2. Use a clean rag to wipe off the mounting surface on the oil cooler or oil filter body.
3. Apply clean engine oil to the O-ring of the new oil filter.





4. Tighten the filter according to the installation direction on the side of the filter or its own container, by using the SST.
5. Start the engine and check for oil leaks.
6. Check the oil level and and oil if necessary.
