Variable Induction Control Actuator: Testing and Inspection





1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the VRIS shutter valve actuator.
2. Connect the vacuum pump to the actuator.
3. Apply 3.6 - 24.9 kPa {27 - 187 mmHg, 1.0 - 7.36 inHg} vacuum and verify that the rod is pulled into the actuator.
4. If not as specified, remove the VRIS shutter valve actuator and check the operation of the VRIS shutter valve.
5. If it does not operates smoothly, replace the VRIS shutter valve actuator.
