Component Inspection
WARNING- Fuel line spills and leaks are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also Irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, always complete the "Fuel Line Safety Procedures". (Refer to 01-14A FUEL SYSTEM PRECAUTION [KL].)
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Connect a fuel pressure gauge between the fuel filter (high-pressure side) and the fuel distributor. Install clamps as shown in the figure.
3. Connect the negative battery cable.
4. Start the engine and let it idle.
5. Carry out the intake-air system inspection.
6. Measure the fuel line pressure.
Specification
21 - 260 kPa {2.1 - 2.7 kgf/sq.cm, 30 - 38 psi)
7. If not as specified, carry out the fuel system inspection.
8. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator.
9. Measure the fuel line pressure.
Specification
270-310 kPa {2.7-3.2 kgf/sq.cm, 39-45 psi)
10. If not as specified, replace the pressure regulator.
