Front Fender: Service and Repair

REMOVAL




1. Soften the adhesive by using a hot air blower.




2. Pry up the side protector end 20-30 mm {0.79-1.18 in) by using a flathead screwdriver or razor knife, being careful not to damage the painted surface.
3. Pull the separated portion to remove the side protector.

INSTALLATION




1. Use a razor knife to remove the adhesive remaining on the body and side protector (it the side protector will be reused). Remove as much adhesive as possible without damaging the painted surface. If the adhesive is difficult to remove, soften it with a hot air blower.
2. Remove any grease or dirt from the adhesion surface of the side protector (if the side protector will be reused) and body.







3. Attach double-sided adhesive tape to the side protectors shown (if the side protector will be reused).
4. Draw a straight line along points a and b and mark the installation position by using masking tape.

NOTE: Adhesion conditions deteriorate if air temperature is below 20° C {68° F). If this occurs, heat the body before installing the side protector.




5. Align the side protector on the body and attach it securely.
