Fuel Injection Control System
Block Diagram:
Fuel Injection Duration Control Outline
- The PCM controls the fuel injection duration to obtain the optimum air/fuel ratio parameter (stoichiometric) at the closed loop engine operation range, according to the engine operation condition and heated oxygen sensor output signal.
- The PCM controls the fuel injection duration to obtain engine stability and driveablity at the open loop engine operation range according to the engine operation conditions.
- The PCM stops fuel injection for one or more cylinders to protect the powertrain and over rev conditions and to reduce engine torque during drive wheel slipping.
Fuel Injection Timing Control Outline
- During engine cranking and underspeed mode, fuel is injected to all cylinders synchronously based on the crankshaft position sensor signal.
- During normal driving, fuel is injected in optimum timing during each cylinder's intake stroke according to the engine operating condition based on the crankshaft position sensor signal and camshaft position sensor signal.
