Overdrive Switch: Testing and Inspection
O/D OFF SWITCH INSPECTIONInspection of Operation
1. Turn the ignition switch on.
2. Verify that the O/D OFF indicator is not illuminated. Press the O/D OFF switch and verify that: the O/D OFF indicator light illuminates.
- If not as specified, inspect the terminal voltage of the O/D OFF switch.
Inspection of Voltage
1. Remove the front console.
2. Tuna the ignition switch on.
3. Measure voltage at the O/D OFF switch connector terminals.
- If not as specified, inspect the continuity of the O/D OFF switch.
Inspection of Continuity
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the O/D OFF switch connector.
3. Inspect continuity of the switch.
- If not as specified, replace the selector lever knob component.
4. If the switch is OK, inspect the wiring harness. (O/D OFF switch-powertrain control module, O/D OFF switch-Body ground.)
5. Install the front console.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
