Keyless Entry Description:

The operation of the keyless entry system is outlined in the table. The system operates when the ignition switch is not at ON.

Setting the arming mode
The system will be automatically set to the armed mode after the setting procedure listed below is performed.
Setting Procedure: (perform step "1." first, the order of "2." and '3." do not matter)
1. Remove the ignition key from the key cylinder.
2. Close all entry points (doors, hood and trunk lid).
3. Use any one of the following methods to lock all the doors. If any door is unlocked after all the doors have been locked with the transmitter, the setting procedure will be canceled.
1. Use the transmitter to lock any door. (as a result, all the doors will be locked)
2. Use the door lock switch to lock the doors. (as a result, all the doors will be locked)

4. After the above steps are performed, the armed mode will automatically start with the turn lights flashing for 2 seconds. Then the security light flashes at 3 seconds intervals.

NOTE: After step "4.", the trunk lid may be opened by using the key or the transmitter and closed, the system remains in the arming mode.

Alarming mode
When the system is set to the armed mode and any of the following conditions are met, the system sounds the horns and flashes the turn lights and the headlights for about 2.5 minutes:

5. After 15 seconds if any of the door is unlocked and opened without the transmitter. (after 15 seconds, the security light flashes at 3 seconds intervals.)
6. The trunk lid or the hood is opened without the key or transmitter.

Cancellation of armed mode
- The armed mode can be canceled only by pressing the unlock button of the transmitter.
- The ignition switch is turned to ON with the key within 15 seconds of unlocking or opening any door without the transmitter.

Cancellation of alarmed mode
The alarm mode can be canceled when any of the following conditions are met.

7. The unlock button of the transmitter is pressed.
8. The trunk lid is opened by the transmitter or key.
9. The ignition switch is turned to ON with the key.
