Engine Assembly Mounting and Dismounting
ENGINE STAND MOUNTING / DISMOUNTINGMOUNTING
When Using SST (49 E010 1A0)
1. Install the SSTs at the positions shown.
2. Mount the engine on the SST.
When Using SST (49 E010 1A1 and 49 L010 1A0)
1. Install the SSTs as shown.
2. Install the SST (arms) to the cylinder block holes as shown, and hand tighten the SST (bolts).
3. Assemble the SSTs (bolts, nuts, and plate) to the specified positions.
4. Install the SST (bolts, nuts, and plate) assembled in step 3 to the SST installed in step 2.
5. Adjust the SST (bolts) so that less than 20 mm (0.79 inch) of thread is exposed.
6. Make the SST (plate and arms) parallel by adjusting the SST (bolt and nuts).
7. Tighten the SST (bolts and nuts) to affix the SST firmly.
WARNING: The self-locking brake system of the engine stand may not be effective when the engine is held in an unbalanced position. This could lead to sudden, rapid movement of the engine and mounting stand handle and cause serious injury. Never keep the engine in an unbalanced position, and always hold the rotating handle firmly when turning the engine.
8. Mount the engine on the SST (Engine stand).
9. Drain the engine oil into a container.
10. Install the drain plug and new washer.
Tightening torque: 30 - 41 Nm (3.0 - 4.2 kgf.cm, 22 - 30 ft. lbs.)
COOLANT DRAINING
1. Remove the blind cover and drain the coolant.
2. After draining the coolant, install a new gasket and reinstall the blind cover.
Tightening torque: 7.9 - 10.7 Nm (80 - 110 kgf.cm, 69.5 - 95.4 inch lbs.)
DISMOUNTING
- Dismount in the reverse order of mounting.
