PID/Data Monitor and Record Procedure
NOTE: This is a specific function.1. Perform the NGS tester Hook-up Procedure.
2. Perform Steps 1 through 15 below.
NOTE:
- This is a specific function.
- Start engine and keep it running. If engine will not start, turn the ignition key to ON (Engine OFF) during the procedure.
1. Perform the necessary vehicle preparation and visual inspection.
2. Hook the NGS tester up to the vehicle.
3. Move the cursor to VEHICLE & ENGINE SELECTION.
4. Press the TRIGGER key to enter this selection.
5. Move the cursor to SELECT NEW VEHICLE YEAR & MODEL.
6. Press the TRIGGER key to enter this selection.
7. Move the cursor to 2000 - VIN # 10:Y.
8. Press the TRIGGER key to enter this selection.
9. Move the cursor to the appropriate model.
10. Press the TRIGGER key to choose the model.
NOTE:
- Make sure the selected vehicle is correct.
- A vehicle selection screen showing the selected vehicle will be displayed.
11. Move the cursor to the vehicle selected.
12. Press the TRIGGER key.
13. Move the cursor to DIAGNOSTIC DATA LINK on the main menu screen.
14. Press the TRIGGER key to enter into menu system diagnostics.
15. Move the cursor to PCM - POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE.
3. Turn the ignition key to ON (Engine OFF) or start the engine.
4. Move the cursor to PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD.
5. Press the TRIGGER key to enter this selection.
6. Move the cursor to PID values to view.
7. Press the TRIGGER key. A star symbol will appear next to the item when it is selected.
NOTE:
- Press the TRIGGER key once again to deselect a PID.
- Press CLEAR to deselect all PIDs.
8. Press START to begin.
9. When ready to capture and store the selected PIDs, press the TRIGGER key.
10. Press the TRIGGER key again when ready to save information.
11. Move the cursor to STORE RECORDING AREA 1.
12. Press the TRIGGER key.
13. Follow the instructions displayed on the NGS tester to save the recording data.
