Cigarette Lighter: Service and Repair

NOTE:
- If the socket is removed, replace the ring with a new one. Do not reuse the ring.
- If the cigarette lighter is malfunctioning, replace the cigarette lighter plug and the socket as a set.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the center panel.
3. Remove the climate control unit.




4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Socket Removal Note




1. Put your hand into the dashboard through the hole where the climate control unit has been removed.

NOTE: Two holes (protrusions on the ring) are located opposite each other on the socket




2. While pushing the protrusion through one of the holes using a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver, push the back of the socket to disengage the ring from the socket.




3. While pushing the back of the socket, disengage the other side in the same procedure to pull the socket out of the dashboard.
