Variable Induction Control Actuator: Testing and Inspection

VRIS SHUTTER VALVE ACTUATOR INSPECTION [KL]
1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the VRIS shutter valve actuator.





2. Connect the vacuum pump to the VRIS shutter valve actuator.
3. Apply 3.6 - 24.9 kPa (27 - 187 mmHg, 1.1 - 7.4 inHg) vacuum and verify that the rod is pulled into the VRIS shutter valve actuator.
^ If not as specified, remove the VRIS shutter valve actuator and inspect the operation of the VRIS shutter valve.
^ If it does not operate smoothly, replace the VRIS shutter valve actuator.
