Simulation Inspection
SIMULATION INSPECTION [GF4A-EL]Shift Solenoid A, B. C, TCC Control Solenoid Valve, and 3-2 Timing Solenoid Valve
1. Connect SSTs (NGS tester) to the DLC-2.
2. Turn ignition switch to ON (engine OFF).
3. Select the SIMULATION TEST function on the SSTs (NGS tester) display.
4. Select IGNITION ON TEST mode.
5. Turn the solenoid valve from off to on using the PID and inspect if the operation sound is heard.
- If the operation sound is not heard, inspect the solenoid valve.
- If the solenoid valve okay, inspect the wiring harness.
Pressure Control Solenoid
1. Connect SSTs (NGS tester) to the DLC-2.
2. Perform mechanical system test preparation.
Warning Remove the square-head plug when the ATF is hot can be dangerous. Hot ATF can come out of the opening and badly burn you. Before removing the square-head plug, allow the ATF to cool.
3. Remove the square-head plug.
4. Connect the SSTs (49 H019 002, 49 B019 901A, and 49 0378 400B) to the line pressure inspection port.
5. Start the engine.
6. Select the SIMULATION TEST function on the SSTs (NGS tester) display.
7. Select IDLING TEST mode.
8. Select LINE PID.
9. Press START.
Caution Idle the engine in N position for at least one minute after the simulation test. Otherwise the transaxle may be damaged.
10. Perform the simulation test and check the change in line pressure.
- If the line pressure does not change because of an increase in the duty value, inspect the pressure control solenoid.
- If the pressure control solenoid is okay, inspect the wiring harness. (pressure control solenoid-PCM).
