Fuel Leakage Test
WARNING: Fuel can Ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage if fuel is spilled over a hot engine. Always carry out the following procedure with the engine stopped.1. Complete the "BEFORE REPAIR PROCEDURE".
2. Remove the fuel distributor from the intake manifold. (See FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
3. Connect the fuel hoses as shown.
CAUTION: Connecting the wrong DLC terminal may possibly cause a malfunction. Carefully connect the specified terminal only.
4. Short the DLC terminal F/P to body GND using a jumper wire.
5. Turn the ignition switch to ON and inspect for fuel leakage from the fuel injectors.
Fuel leakage: Less than 1 drop/2 minutes
6. Turn off the ignition switch and disconnect the jumper wire.
- If not as specified, remove the leaking fuel injector and inspect the fuel injector fitting.
7. Install the fuel injector.
8. Inspect the fuel injector for fuel leakage.
- If leakage still occurs, replace the fuel injector.
9. Complete the "AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE".
