Injector Volume Test

WARNING:
- Fuel vapor is hazardous. It can very easily ignite, causing serious injury and damage. Always keep sparks and flames away from fuel.
- Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage if it is spilled over a hot engine. Always carry out the following procedure with the engine stopped.

NOTE:
- Perform this inspection only when directed.
- If you have an after market fuel injector tester or SST 49 E018 901, 49 T018 901, perform this inspection.
- If there is no after market fuel injector tester available, perform "Simulation Test", "Resistance Inspection", and "Fuel leakage Inspection" to verify whether the fuel injector is okay or not.

1. Complete the "BEFORE REPAIR PROCEDURE".

Using the SST
1. Remove the fuel injectors and fuel distributor from the intake manifold.

2. Connect the SSTs as shown.

CAUTION: Connecting the wrong DLC terminal may possibly cause a malfunction. Carefully connect the specified terminal only.

3. Short the DLC terminal F/P to body GND using a jumper wire.
4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
5. Turn selector switch on the SST to select fuel injector number.

6. Press and hold the switch for 15 sec. and measure the injection volume of each fuel injector using a graduated container.

Specification: 61 - 77 ml {61 - 77 cc, 2.1 - 2.6 fl oz}/15 sec.

7. Turn off the ignition switch and disconnect the jumper wire.
- If not as specified, replace the fuel injector.
8. Complete the "AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE".

Using a fuel injector tester
1. Remove the fuel injectors.
2. Connect the fuel injector to a fuel injector tester.
3. Measure the injection volume of each fuel injector.
- If not as specified, replace the fuel injector.

Injection volume: 61 - 77 ml (61 - 77 cc, 2.1 - 2.6 fl oz}/1.5 sec.

4. Complete the "AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE".
