IMPROPER INDICATION OF DTC P1300

APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINs
ALL 2000 Protege with VINs lower than JM1 BJ22** Y0 259030.

DESCRIPTION

Some vehicle's PCMs may improperly store and display DTC P1300 during DTC retrieval. This may be caused by an improperly programmed PCM. DTC P1300 does NOT result in a problem condition requiring the performance of diagnostic procedures.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired according to the following procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer concern.

2. Perform PCM reprogramming procedure using the WDS version B13 software or later.

3. Verify repair.
