- When the customer reports vehicle malfunction, check the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) indication, HOLD indicator light flashing, and PCM memory for diagnostic trouble code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction according to the flowchart.
- If a DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC.
- If no DTC exists, MIL does not illuminate, and HOLD indicator light flashes, diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting.
