Parking Mechanism

PARKING MECHANISM
Disassembly/Assembly

NOTE: Do not remove the detent spring, manual plate and manual shaft if not necessary.





1. Disassemble in the order shown in the figure, referring to Disassembly Note.
2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly, referring to Assembly Procedure.


Disassembly Note
Roll Pin





1. Move the manual plate to L range position.
2. Remove the roll pin by using a pin punch.

Assembly Procedure





1. Install the manual shaft.
1. Apply ATF to the new O-ring and install it to the manual shaft.
2. Install the manual shaft to the transaxle case.
3. Apply ATF to the new location bolt to the transaxle case.





2. Install the manual plate
1. Align the hole in the manual plate and manual shaft.
2. Tap the roll pin as shown in the figure.





3. Install the detent spring.
1. Insert a suitable pin into the hole of the manual plate, and position the manual plate.





NOTE: Verify that the the manual shaft and the manual plate move smoothly.

2. Install the detent spring.

Tightening torque: 4.0 - 5.8 Nm (40 - 60 kgf-cm, 35 - 52 inch lbs.)





4. Install the parking actuator support.
5. Install the parking pawl, parking shaft and return spring.





6. Install the parking rod and parking lever.
7. Apply ATF to the new retaining ring and install it to the parking lever shaft.
