- When the customer reports a vehicle malfunction, inspect the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) indication, HOLD indicator light flashing, and TCM memory for diagnostic trouble code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction according to the flowchart.
- If a DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC.
- If no DTC exists, MIL does not illuminate, and HOLD indicator light flashes, diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting.
