Bulletin No: 09-011/02Last Issued: 09/30/2002
Subject:
POWER DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT LOCK WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
2002 Miata equipped with power door locks, keyless entry, and perimeter alarm system.
DESCRIPTION
Customer complains of inability to lock the doors using the power door lock button while the engine is running. During this state, the perimeter alarm system causes a different voltage level at the door lock control module resulting in a no-lock condition. To correct this condition, install a diode jumper harness to the alarm system harness using the procedure outlined in this bulletin.
REPAIR PROCEDURE

6. Strip 1/4 inch of insulation off the cut ends of the orange wire.
