DESCRIPTION
A gear indicator lettering plate has been established as a service part to address a cracking concern that some customers have experienced.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify customer concern.
2. Remove center console according to applicable Workshop Manual (section 09-17 CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).
3. Disassemble selector lever according to applicable Workshop Manual (section 05-18 SELECTOR LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).
4. Unclip and remove the top cover from indicator panel assembly.
5. Remove old letter plate by releasing top tab and gently slide the letter plate out.
6. Install new letter plate by sliding the letter plate under the retaining tabs.
NOTE:
Make sure the letter plate is locked in place.
7. Verify repair.
