DESCRIPTION
The glove compartment must be removed carefully to avoid damaging the hinges. The figure indicates the area that may be damaged during removal. This procedure below is available in the workshop manual, follow it carefully to prevent damage to the glove compartment hinges.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Open the glove compartment.
2. Remove the damper clip string from the right side of the glove compartment.
3. Press both sides of the glove compartment inward until it releases from the dash.
4. Hold the glove box in a level position (not fully lowered).
NOTE:
The glove compartment will not come out if held too high or too low. When held level, the glove compartment will come out easily.
5. Gently pull the glove compartment toward you until the hinges release.
CAUTION:
Do not force the glove compartment loose; the hinges can be easily broken. The hinge will not release unless the glove compartment is at the correct angle.
6. To install the glovebox, carefully reverse the steps above.
