THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM WILL NOT SET
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
All 2003 Mazda6 vehicles equipped with factory alarm system
DESCRIPTION
Some Mazda6 vehicles may not set the alarm when using the keyless entry transmitter. This concern is most likely to occur if the 15 amp "room fuse" is installed while the ignition key is in the "ON" position. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired according to the following repair procedures.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify concern.
2. Remove key from ignition switch.
3. Remove 15 amp "room fuse" from fuse box located on driver side kick panel.
4. Verify fuse is not burnt.
5. Wait for two seconds or more, then reinstall fuse.
6. Close all doors and trunk.
7. Test alarm system operation by confirming the following:
^ Press "Lock" button on transmitter one time to verify hazard lights flash.
^ Press "Lock" button on transmitter twice to verify horn sounds.
NOTE:
If alarm system remains inoperative, refer to Workshop Manual (Section 09-14) for troubleshooting information.
8. Verify repair.
