Differential Preload Measurement





1. Assemble the differential component.





2. Install the converter housing and tighten the bolts in 4 locations as shown in the figure.

Tightening torque:
143-147 Nm (14.6-14.9 kgf-m, 106-108 ft.lbf.)





3. Insert the SST through the hole for the joint shaft and connect it to the differential pinion shaft.





4. Install a torque wrench to the SST and measure the initial rotational torque of the differential.

Differential initial rotational torque specification:
78-118 Nm (8.0-12 kgf-m, 58-87 ft.lbf.)

^ If not within the specification, select a suitable shim and reinstall so that the initial rotational torque is within the specification.
