Attachment II - Inspection and Repair Procedures
A. VEHICLE INSPECTION PROCEDURE1. Verify that the vehicle is within the following range:
^ 2002 - 2003 MPV vehicles built from November 26, 2001 through July 1, 2003 VIN Range: JM3LW28**2*300020 - JM3LW28**3*374773
- If the vehicle is within the above range, proceed to Step 2.
- If the vehicle is not within the above range, return the vehicle to the customer or inventory.
2. Perform a Warranty Vehicle Inquiry using your eMDCS System and inspect vehicle for an Authorized Modification Label SSP60 attached to the vehicle's hood. Refer to eMDCS System - Warranty Vehicle Inquiry Results table shown.
NOTE:
Be sure to verify SSP number as the vehicle may have multiple SSP labels.
B. REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Record customer's pre-set radio stations.
2. Disconnect and remove the battery to gain access to the Fan Control Module.
3. Remove the two (2) Fan Control Module bolts; discard the bolts.
4. Disconnect the three (3) electrical connectors from the Fan Control Module.
5. Attach the three (3) connectors to the new Fan Control Module.
6. Secure the module with two (2) new bolts provided in the kit.
Tightening Torque: 26-34 in-lbf (29-40 kgf-cm)
7. Reinstall battery and connect the cables.
8. Re-enter customer's radio pre-set stations.
9. Proceed to "C. AUTHORIZED MODIFICATION LABEL INSTALLATION".
C. AUTHORIZED MODIFICATION LABEL INSTALLATION
Complete an "Authorized Modification Label" with the Recall number written on the sticker and affix it to the vehicle's hood. Refer back to the illustration under "A. VEHICLE INSPECTION PROCEDURE".
