1. Using a thickness gauge, measure clearance between the retaining plate and the snap ring.
^ If not as specified, replace parts where necessary.

Clearance
Reverse clutch: 0.5-0.8 mm (0.020-0.031 in)
High clutch: 0.8-1.1 mm (0.031-0.043 in)
