DOME LAMP FLASHING AND / OR
CLICKING SOUND FROM REAR DOORS

RX-8 (with Mazda Genuine Accessory theft-alarm shock sensor installed)

DESCRIPTION

Some customers may experience a concern of the dome light flashing or a clicking sound from the rear doors when a front door is closed. The cause may be an due to a missing diode in the early version of the Mazda Genuine Accessory Theft-Alarm shock sensor installed in the vehicle.

Customers having this concern should have their vehicles repaired using the following repair procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify customer complaint. Get in vehicle and close front doors (make sure rear doors are closed). Watch for dome light flashing and clicking sound from rear doors.

2. Install a Diode update kit.

NOTE:
The Diode update kit includes detailed installation instructions.

3. Verify repair.
